Hangal, Jan. 1: Karate masters from Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hangal have shown excellent performance in the 3rd All India National Level Open Karate Championship-2026 organized by Sahyadri Shimoga District Sports Karate Association, a member of All Karnataka Sports Karate Association and recognized by Karate India (KIO), World Karate Federation (WKF) and others, at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Shimoga, Karnataka. Sri Madhu Bangarappa, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education and Sports of Karnataka were present as the chief guests in this event. South India Open Karate Championships held in Hubballi.
* In Kumite – Veda Shivappa Hattiavar – 3rd place.
* Kata – Swara (5th class) – 2nd place and 3rd place in Kumite.
* Reyansh (3rd class) – 2nd place.
* Pankaj (Class 6) – 2nd position.
