Hangal, Aug. 15: Sangolli Rayanna Jayanti and Sri Aurobindo Ghosh Jayanti were celebrated along with the 79th Independence Day herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hangal.
Former Army Officer Sri Kumar Yelavatthi was the Chief Guest of the program.
The children spoke about Sangolli Rayanna and Sri Aurobindo Ghosh and their contributions to the Indian freedom movement.
House Naming and Badging Ceremony:
The Chief Guest Sri Kumar Yelavatthi announced the names of the school houses. The principal explained the meaning of the names.
Then the channel leaders and deputy leaders received their badges.
The principal administered the oath.
The children sang patriotic songs and performed dances. They entertained the audience by displaying a pyramid structure.
The Chief Guest, Sri Kumar Yelavatty, delivered an inspiring speech commemorating the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. He shared his personal experiences of his service in the Armed Forces, described the extreme weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, and recounted the incidents of Uri, Siachen and the Sino-Indian War of 1962. He spoke about the valour of Jaswant Singh Rawat and his valiant fight during the war, urging the students to uphold the values of courage, patriotism and selfless service to the nation.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಜಿ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಯಳವಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರಿ ಅರವಿಂದ್ ಘೋಷ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ ಚಳುವಳಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಹೌಸ್ ನಾಮಕರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಬ್ಯಾಡ್ಜಿಂಗ್ ಆಚರಣೆ:
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಯಳವಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಶಾಲಾ ಹೌಸ್ ಗಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ನಂತರ ವಾಹಿನಿಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ಮತ್ತು ಉಪ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಬ್ಯಾಡ್ಜ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಿಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಪಿರಾಮಿಡ್‌ ರಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ರಂಜಿಸಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಯಳವಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ತ್ಯಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವೆಯ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿನ ಹವಾಮಾನ ವೈಪರೀತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಉರಿ, ಸಿಯಾಚಿನ್ ಮತ್ತು 1962 ರ ಚೀನಾ-ಭಾರತ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಜಸ್ವಂತ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ರಾವತ್ ಅವರ ಶೌರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಯುದ್ಧದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಧೀರ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು, ಧೈರ್ಯ, ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯುವಂತೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.
